Description :

The Malbork Castle Museum is a museum located in the town of Malbork in northern Poland. It is one of the largest castles in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The museum was established in 1945 and is run by the National Museum in Gda?sk. The Malbork Castle Museum traces its origins to the Teutonic Knights of the 13th century, who erected a castle there as a stronghold for their Order. The castle went through several renovations and expansions over the centuries, becoming one of the largest fortresses in Europe.

In 1457, the castle was captured by the Polish-Lithuanian forces and remained in Polish hands until 1945, when it was finally taken over by the Red Army and became part of what was then the People's Republic of Poland. Today, the museum houses a wide array of artifacts, including weapons, armor, furniture, and artwork from the castle’s history. Visitors can also explore the various rooms of the castle, including the Knights’ Hall, the Great Refectory, and the Throne Room. The museum also features a number of interactive displays, including a virtual tour of the castle, 3D models of the castle’s various rooms, and a multimedia presentation of the castle’s history.

The Malbork Castle Museum is open year-round, and admission is free. The museum also offers a variety of educational programs and workshops for school groups, as well as guided tours and special events throughout the year. The museum is a popular tourist destination, attracting more than 800,000 visitors each year. The Malbork Castle Museum is a great place to learn about the history of the Teutonic Knights, as well as the history of Poland.
