Description :

The Buenos Aires Cabildo (or Casa del Cabildo) is a historical building located in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the former seat of the colonial government of Buenos Aires and is now a museum. Construction of the Cabildo began in 1610 and it was completed in 1725. The building is located in the Plaza de Mayo, at the intersection of the streets of Defensa and Balcarce. The Cabildo was the seat of the colonial government of Buenos Aires and was the site of many important historical events, such as the May Revolution which led to the establishment of the first government of the United Provinces of the River Plate. The building was also the site of the first meetings of the Constituent Assembly in 1813, which eventually led to the establishment of the modern Argentine Republic. The Cabildo is now a museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from the colonial period, as well as a library and an auditorium. It also serves as a venue for special events, such as lectures and concerts. The building is open to the public and visitors can take guided tours of the building and learn about its history.
