The Accademia Gallery is an art museum in Florence, Italy, specializing in Renaissance and Baroque art. It is one of the most important art galleries in the world and is home to the famous statue, "David" by Michelangelo. The gallery was founded in 1784 and is located in the former monastery of San Matteo, in the heart of Florence. The Accademia Gallery is home to some of the world’s most celebrated artworks by Renaissance masters such as Michelangelo, Raphael, and Botticelli.
