  • De Vos found that these Japanese Americans functioned much better than would any other minority.

  • His findings showed that, "Japanese were highly internalized people with a strong need to achieve, a strong internalized sense of family responsibilities, and a strong potential for guilt."

  • De Vos also did research comparing Japanese delinquency to American Japanese delinquency; he found that these were "significantly related." He has done his research all over the world.
