  • In Daniel’s earlier years he did an abundance of work on the Algonquin Indians of the eastern woodlands.

  • He was the first anthropologist to present extensive fieldwork on the aborigines

  • He published a number of papers on his archeological investigations.

  • He wrote on the relationships of the cultures of Australia, Tasmania, Melanesia, Indonesia and Tierra del Fuego, and on trans-Pacific migrations.
