- When Cline acknowledged his Ph.D. he went to work at Yale as a teacher.
- Working at Yale he became very dispirited and after two years he left and went to Northwestern University. He spent three years there and the setting was very helpful.
- During the two years he wrote a paper about “Mexican Community Studies’ and completed his book The U.S. and Mexico. This book had significance on the Mexican uprising and pages of statistics that set his particular career.
- It was initially published as a volume in the American Foreign Policy Library.
- A new edition was released in 1961 because such theatrical changes had taken place in Mexico over a ten year period.
- His volume, Mexico: Revolution to Evolution, 1940-1960 was written in his spare time a
