    The archaeological site of Denisova Cave lies in the Anui River, in the Altai region of a Siberia and cut in to the face of a steep limestone cliff.
    The sites paleolithic occupation was founded in the 1970s by Russian archaeologists, and excavated in the 1980s. Radiocarbon dates of the great Mousterian levels are among 39,000 and 46,000 years b.p.
