The ruins of the Chailey Heritage Marine Hospital lies at the seaward side of Tide Mills, east of Newhaven, Sussex, in England.
The hospital was constructed in 1924, to provide aftercare and recovery for handicapped boys who had undergone surgery.
Plaques on the site speak of a charitable foundation, the \"Guild of the Poor Brave Things\", that established the hospital as part of the Chailey Heritage founded by Dame Grace Kimmins in 1903.
The beach hospital was a portion of the Chailey Heritage Hospital and was an extension of the main hospital to try and construct strength up in the boys by the spartan conditions and sea bathing, not just for post operative case or for \"cripples\", but it was also used for asthma cases.
