The Salar Jung Museum is located at Darushifa in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is one of the three National Museums of India and is the largest one-man collection of antiques in the world. The museum was founded by Mir Yusuf Ali Khan, commonly known as Salar Jung III, who was a Prime Minister of the erstwhile state of Hyderabad.

Description :

Salar Jung III spent a lifetime collecting antiques, artifacts, ornaments, manuscripts, fabrics, paintings and books from different parts of the world. He was an avid traveler and collected items from Europe, West Asia, Far East and other parts of the world. The collection was so huge that it was not possible to accommodate it in one place, so he had to build a special museum to house them. The Salar Jung Museum was opened to the public in 1951 and houses around 43,000 artifacts. The artifacts are divided into different categories, including paintings, sculpture, carvings, metal objects, manuscripts, weapons, textiles, carpets and furniture. The museum also houses a large collection of paintings by renowned artists such as Rembrandt, Raphael, Van Dyck, Murillo, and many others. The museum also has a library and a research center. The library houses a collection of books and manuscripts which are related to the museum's collection. The research center provides information about various artifacts and their significance. The museum also organizes various educational and cultural activities for the public. The Salar Jung Museum is a great place to visit and explore the rich cultural heritage of India. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hyderabad and provides an insight into the history and culture of the region. The museum is open all days of the week and it is a great place to spend time with friends and family.
