Educational background  :
Educated at Oxford in Fertile Crescent and Biblical Archaeology. She worked closely with Mortimer Wheeler, and other archaeologists in the Holy Land. In 1958 she excavated Jericho, than in 1961 Jerusalem. She set up the minialist school for archaeology in Jerusalem, which in 1998 was renamed the Kenyon Institute.
