She has taught ancient history and archaeology at the University of Sydney, the Australian National University, and the University of Sheffield.
She held an Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship and a U2000 Research Fellowship at the University of Sydney.
She joined the Archaeology and Ancient History team at Leicester in 2006.
She is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries.
