In 1970's and 1980's she contributed her archaeological and ethnoarchaeological research in Navajo irrigation and the Pueblo II Mesa Verde Anasazi in southwestern Colorado. Later she shifted to the Kutse project in Botswana, from 1987-1997, and the Caledon River Valley project in South Africa, from 1998. she was elected to the American Anthropology Association's Committee on the Status of Women in Anthropology. she surveyed and excavated African Stone Age sites including the Caledon River Valley in South Africa
