Acheivements / Contributions :

He was named as the director of the first Egyptian Antiquities Museum, which was situated in Bulaq (a part of Cairo).
He also edited a sequence of standard works on Egyptology, including a four volume, comprehensive catalog of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
He was a longtime director of the Egyptian Antiquities Service, the prototype of the modern Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA).
