During the excavations dubbed “Operation Scroll,”lv a large number of date pits were discovered in Locus 76, next to the press previously discovered in Locus 75. Drori and Magen concluded that the Locus 75 press was a date press and that the residents of Qumran produced date honey on a large scale.
