An honorary A.M. degree by Dartmouth College in 1901.

He also received honorary Sc.D. Degrees by Oglethorpe University in 1927 and by Denison University in 1930.

• Warren King Moorehead was known in his time as the 'Dean of American archaeology'.

• Moorehead found important artifacts,excavating the Ohio and Scioto river valleys.This brought him much respect.
