Valerio Valeri did meticulous and eminent field work all around the sphere including Indonesia, Micronesia, Malaysia and Hawaii.

He wrote a book called Kingship and Sacrifice: Ritual and Society in Ancient Hawaii (translated from French) that was considered "the best book ever written on Polynesian ethnology” (The University of Chicago Chronicle 1998).

He devoted a great part of his life to the triumph of anthropology.
