William Bill H. Davenport was awarded a Ford Foundation grant to participate in an interdisciplinary study in the behavioral sciences.

He held most of his teaching positions on the East Coast, and the majority of his fieldwork was in the Pacific.

Bill has published a wide variety of papers dealing with a broad range of topics including: social organization, art, game theory, sexuality, economics, leadership, and culture change.
