In 1935 Frank Warner wedded his wife Anne Locher, who shared his welfare in folk material.

  • Locher accompanied Warner on many of his holiday tours and finally joined him in singing and touring.
  • Once, while on vacation, they came in contact with Frank Proffitt.
  • Proffitt who was a highly gifted folk artist and instrument maker, taught them a song by the name of
  • Tom Dooley, which later became a national hit in the 1950s.
  • As the song became a nationwide hit, the Warner's gave an tremendous amount of credit to Proffitt since he aided to their success while touring.
  • In the mean time, Warner continual to progress with his YMCA work.
