  • It is the mountain which lies in the Snowy Mountains in Kosciuszko National Park.
  • It was able to drive to Rawson's Pass near to the summit until 1976.
  • Due to environmental concerns,the walking track to Mount Kosciuszko from Charlotte Pass is in fact that road, which was close to public motor vehicle access. It has an altitude of 2,228 meters above sea level and it is the highest mountain in Australia .
  • In 1840, It was named as Edmund Strzelecki in honour of the Polish national hero General Tadeusz Ko?ciuszko, because of its perceived resemblance to the Ko?ciuszko Mound in Krakow by the Polish explorer Count Paul.
