The Dyfed Archaeological Trust is an Archaeological Trust organization established in the mid 1970s as part of the Welsh Archaeological Trusts. The Trust maintains Historic Environment Records for their area to provide archaeological advice to central government, planning authorities and other public bodies. Dyfed Archaeological Trust Limited is one of the four Welsh Archaeological Trusts. The Trust is both a Limited Company and a Registered Charity. The Trust is established to advance the education of the public in archaeology. It is committed to working to help protect, record and interpret all aspects of the historic environment. Dyfed Archaeological Trust’s professional Field Services team offers a wide range of commercial services; including excavation, evaluation, desk-top assessments, building survey, landscape survey and heritage interpretation. Dyfed Archaeological Trust Heritage Management maintains the Historic Environment Record for southwest Wales. Currently over 43,000 sites of archaeological and historical interest are recorded.
