{"id":82,"date":"2008-12-26T22:39:41","date_gmt":"2008-12-26T22:39:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greatarchaeology.com\/news\/?p=82"},"modified":"2009-01-13T12:53:41","modified_gmt":"2009-01-13T12:53:41","slug":"liverpool-museum-is-uncovered-in-to-the-child-mummy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greatarchaeology.com\/news\/2008\/12\/liverpool-museum-is-uncovered-in-to-the-child-mummy\/","title":{"rendered":"Liverpool Museum Unveils Child Mummy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Liverpool Museum<\/strong> unveils <strong>child mummy<\/strong> as the part of it&#8217;s newest items of the exhibited online.<br \/>\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatarchaeology.com\/otzi.htm\"><strong>mummy<\/strong><\/a> of a young boy of the about two years old, elaborately wrapped in a series of the narrow linen bandages. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left; border: 1px solid black; margin: 1px;\" title=\"MUMMY RESEARCH ORGANIZATION \" src=\"http:\/\/www.greatarchaeology.com\/images\/large.jpg \" alt=\"MUMMY RESEARCH ORGANIZATION\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" align=\"right\" \/>When excavated by Professor Flinders Petrie in he described this as the most perfect example of the complex system of the <strong>diagonal winding<\/strong>, it is an completely regular over the entire body.<\/p>\n<p>The colours of the bandages have faded but the thirteen layers were <strong>once red, white, gilt, blue and brown<\/strong>, no studs were required to hold them in to the place.<br \/>\nThere is a portrait of the child inserted into the bandages, unfortunately badly damaged but originally fine, it is the probable that is damage occurred during the time between preparation of the <strong>mummy<\/strong> and the <strong>actual burial<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatarchaeology.com\/archaeometry.htm\"><strong>X-rays<\/strong><\/a> revealed the presence of an amulet, probably metallic, lying on the tongue, another amulet laying over the genitalia.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left; border: 1px solid black; margin: 1px;\" title=\"Otztaler Alps RESEARCH\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greatarchaeology.com\/images\/otzi.gif \" alt=\"Otztaler Alps,RESEARCH \" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\nExcavated at Hawara cemetery ancient Crocodilopolis and presented to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatarchaeology.com\/List-Of-Museum.htm\"><strong>museum<\/strong><\/a> in 1911 by the <strong>British School of Archaeology in Egypt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Liverpool Museum unveils child mummy as the part of it&#8217;s newest items of the exhibited online.
