Movie Type Chinese Mythology

Archaeological facts
The movie shows a lot of mythological characters like Yeti, . A loosely based script on the Mythology of Shangri-La and the Terracota Army that was discovered in 1974 near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor.

According to the archaeologists The Terracotta Army is a form of funerary art buried with the First Emperor of Qin in 210-209 BC. The Army's purpose was to help rule another empire with Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. Still as stated by "By Tim McGuinness, Ph.D., August 13th, 2008"
The Mummy. The problem here is that it's NOT a mummy. Mummies are produced by a few different processes, from artificial mummification (as in Egypt), to natural mummification (as in Peru). The Dragon Emperor was cursed (per the story), and transformed in mud, along with his whole army. And while there were plenty of undead to shake a stick at in this movie, where were the mummies?
Source: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor - Review Yes when I first saw the movie, even I was wondering where was the mummy? :) But yes the Terracota army is well preserved and is identified as one of the World heritage center. Still the Shangri-La, Yeti, the terracota army coming back to life still remains mythical.

Movie Walkthrough and Review
The story is the third in the series to the The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick and Alex O'Connell unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard centuries ago. They are not archaeologists, but rather tomb raiders who do it for the thrill of it. The Emperor is awaken and goes in search of the Shangri-La a place where the Elixir of life exists. When the emperor gets it he will have the god power to awaken his entire terracota army and regain the power of china and conquer world. Unknowingly awakening the army, and then trying to send them back to their tombs was the typical story followed in all three parts of the movie. There is lot of action, graphics, adventure and very less of History or archaeology.
