Shankardev Kalakshetra is a museum situated in the northeastern city of Guwahati in India. It was founded in 1987 by the State Government of Assam in order to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the state. The museum is dedicated to the life and works of the 16th century Assamese saint and reformer, Shankardev. The museum is aimed at preserving the traditional art forms and culture of the state which were in danger of getting lost due to rapid modernization.

The museum has a number of galleries and exhibits that showcase the traditional art forms and culture of Assam. These include the Borgeet and Bhokti Gallery which has a collection of traditional Assamese music; a gallery of traditional masks, sculptures and dance costumes; a gallery of rare manuscripts and a gallery of Assamese paintings. The museum also houses a library that contains books and manuscripts related to Shankardev and his teachings. The museum also houses a theater where traditional plays and dance performances are regularly held. It also has a mini theater where short movies related to Assamese culture are screened. The museum also has a mini auditorium which regularly hosts conferences and seminars related to Assamese culture and the works of Shankardev. Apart from the galleries and exhibits, the museum also organizes various cultural activities and workshops for visitors. These include workshops on traditional mask making, traditional dance and music, Assamese language and painting. These workshops help to spread awareness on the rich culture of Assam and also attract people to the museum. The museum is open to visitors throughout the year and receives a large number of visitors from across the country and even abroad. It is a great way to learn more about the culture and heritage of Assam and to get a glimpse of the traditional art forms that are practiced there.
