Primarily he helped uncover the famous Faras cathedral with its splendid wall paintings in Egypt and at Palmyra in Syria

• A Polish egyptologist, he is best identified for his detailed examination of the tomb of Ramesses III in the Valley of the Kings.
He published scenes and texts in KV11 (Rameses III).
