He was a Chemist for the Egyptian Antiquities Service between 1923 and 1932.

Acheivements / Contributions  :

For nine seasons Alfred Lucas worked closely with Howard Carter in the consolidation of Tutankhamun's burial equipment and in examining the various materials brought to light in the tomb. His work was active in the preservation of the Tutankhamun collection.
Without conservation, Carter predicted that barely 10 per cent of the tomb's content would have reached Cairo in a state fit for exhibition.
Alfred Lucas was also referred as the Sherlock Holmes of Egypt.
He was a chemist and a had a strong background in Forensic sciences.
