Acheivements / Contributions  :

  • In 1953, Lehmer started work at the University of Washington as a Visiting Professor of Anthropology.
  • In 1961 he got job and remained a part of the staff of Dana College, Blair, Nebraska where he later became chief of the Department of Anthropology and Sociology.
  • In 1972 he published Introduction to Middle Missouri Archaeology and was assembling a educational ecology of the Hidatsu Indians when a car accident perpetually changed his life.
  • Donald Lehmer will forever be remembered for his wide plains research and his unending dedication to his work.
