  • The Globe Theater was a theater in London affiliated with William Shakespeare.
  • It was constructed in 1599 by Shakespeare's playing company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men, and was destroyed by fire on 29 June 1613.
  • A second Globe Theater was reconstructed on the same place by June 1614 and closed in 1642.A modern alteration of the Globe is named as "Shakespeare's Globe" which was opened in 1997.
  • It is almost 230 meters (750 ft) away from the place of the original theater.
