Description:
Oxford Archaeology (formerly the Oxford Archaeological Unit) is, along with MoLAS and Wessex Archaeology, one of the big three private archaeological organizations in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1973, it has grown from its early incarnation to carry out commercial archaeological fieldwork in advance of development across Britain. It has also carried out contracts in continental Europe and in Asia. A registered charitable trust with educational aims, it has various outreach and community archaeology projects running alongside its commercial work. Oxford Archaeology is one of the largest independent archaeology and heritage practices in Europe with nearly 400 specialist staff, with permanent offices in Oxford, Lancaster, Cambridge and Montpellier, France. Founded in 1973, we have a 35-year tradition of quality, innovation and service. The registered offices are in Osney Mead, Oxford, and southern England. Other offices are Oxford Archaeology North in Lancaster, northern England, and French offices in Zac de la Louvade, Mauguio, and southern France.
